Jesus Gonzalo one of the KEYNOTE INVITED SPEAKERS at IAAE 2022 Annual Conference
The mission of the IAAE, International Association for Applied Econometrics, is to advance knowledge of econometrics, as well as its application in economics. The annual conference brings together leading researchers in the field to discuss and debate all aspects of econometrics, covering both its theoretical development and applied uses.

1st “Nada es Gratis” Award for Final Degree Project and Master’s Thesis in Economics
The students of the Universidad Carlos II de Madrid, Josué Labios and Giovanni Rodríguez, have won the first award “Nada es Gratis” in the category Final Degree Project and second prize in the category Master’s Thesis respectively.
Josué Labios (1st TFG), won the award with the work titled “Effect of Initial Prices on Dutch Auctions Outcomes. The Case of the Denia Wholesale Fish Auction”.
Giovanni Rodríguez (2nd TFM), won the award for his work titled “El impacto de las tarifas de transporte público en accidentes de tráfico y consumo de alcohol”.

The final project of our student Pedro Gallardo Sánchez entitled “A Study on the Effect of Class Size on Student Achievement in the Post Pandemic ‘New Normal'”, whose tutor was Jesús María Carro Prieto, professor of the Department of Economics at the University Carlos III of Madrid, has been awarded as the best TFG by the Spanish Economics Association (AEE).

VSET – Virtual Seminars in Economic Theory
VSET seminars is an innitiative that the professor Angel Hernando undertook with other colleagues at different UK universities to provide high quality economic theory seminars during the pandemic. Due to its success they decided to continue it this academic year starting this Thursday at 4pm (UK time), i.e. 5 pm, Madrid time.
The Virtual Seminar in Economic Theory provides a platform for scholars to present their unpublished work to a broad academic audience in the UK and abroad. The first VSET for this academic year will take place on Thursday, 7 October.

Juan J. Dolado participates as invited speaker in the 2021 ECB Forum on Central Banking
The ECB Forum on Central Banking is an annual event organised by the European Central Bank since 2014 which is ordinarily held in Sintra (Portugal). It provides a discussion forum equivalent to the annual Jackson Hole Economic Policy Symposium organized by the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City in the U.S. since 1982.
It brings together central bank governors, academics, financial market representatives, journalists and others to exchange views on current policy issues and discuss the Forum’s key topic from a longer-term perspective.
