Studies in Regulated Markets are aimed at students and qualified professionals who are interested in obtaining a global overview in the sectors of Energy, Transport or Telecommunications in order to resolve specific regulatory issues and business decision problems.

To achieve this goal, tools and techniques of economic analysis focused on each sector will be developed and used. As a final result, the student will have the capacity to carry out reports and analyses related to evaluation of projects within the sector of his/her specialization.

The teaching program, inspired by the American model of higher education, is structured into courses that transversely allow students to acquire competences in the areas of their interest. The program enables concentrating the class load into a single semester or to distribute it over a year with 2, 3 or 4 days of class per week according to the combination of the courses selected.

Another advantage of this model of studies is that you can obtain a degree with specialization in one of the three key sectors of the economy while also reinforcing some other areas of ​​interest in the field of industrial economics.

This degree can lead to obtaining the Master’s in Industrial Economics and Markets. In addition, these courses qualify as continuous training to apply for jobs and competitive positions in the public sector.

 

Graduates, engineers or professionals who work in the field of energy and who are interested in obtaining a global economic vision of the energy, transport or telecommunications sector, or looking to update their knowledge and who seek greater specialization as demanded by regulated markets.
The course combines professors from the UC3M Departments of Economics and Business Economics in collaboration with professionals from important companies. All UC3M professors hold PhD s from internationally renowned universities such as the London School of Economics (LSE), the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA), and the University of California at San Diego (UCSD). The professionals who collaborate with the program come from different public and private companies that share invaluable experience and a deep knowledge of the different sectors. This collaboration includes companies such as Iberdrola, RENFE, Telefónica, Samsung, Red Eléctrica de España, OMIE, CINTRA, Grupo Alsa, NERA, Quality Systems España, Spim, FEDIT, Auna, Cotec and institutions such as the Superior Council of Official Chambers of Trade, Industry and Navigation of Spain, Telecommunications Market Commission, National Energy Commission and National Competition Commission. In addition, you will share your classroom experience with colleagues who already work in companies of the sector so the degree program offers a unique opportunity to expand your network of contacts.
Economic analysis tools and techniques specifically applicable to the sectors studied. As an end result, the student should be able to produce reports and analyses related to the evaluation of projects within the area of ​​specialization.

This program offers recognized accreditation of the economic knowledge acquired in the application of regulations in the technologies of the energy, transport and telecommunications, facilitating promotion in a company and improve future work opportunities.
