On March 22, the Council of Ministers agreed, at the proposal of the Ministry of Health, the creation of an Advisory Committee to finance the pharmaceutical provision of the National Health System (NHS). This week, the Ministry has announced the names of the people who will constitute the Committee, which will be chaired by Felix Lobo Aleu.
Ana Ortega Eslava has been named vice-president of the Advisory Committee, while Jaume Puig Junoy, Marta Trapero Bertrán, Ana Clopés Estela, Emilio Alegre del Rey and Roberto Sabrido Bermúdez have been appointed members of this committee. Membership of the Advisory Committee will always be individual and members will not receive retribution.
Advice on pricing
This committee will be in charge of providing advice, evaluation and consultation on the pertinence, improvement and follow-up of the economic evaluation necessary to support the decisions of the Inter-ministerial Committee on Drug Prices.
Among other tasks, it will advise on measures to be undertaken to improve the criteria and procedures for setting the financing prices of medicines that can be financed by the System.
