Jorge García Hombrados

BIO

Jorge joined Universidad Carlos III de Madrid as a Ramón y Cajal researcher in September 2026 after working at the International Initiative for Impact Evaluation (3ie), J-PAL Latin America, the London School of Economics, and Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. He is also a research fellow at IZA and at the Global Labor Organization, and an invited researcher at J-PAL. He completed a PhD in Economics at the University of Sussex in January 2018. His research focuses on topics in applied development economics. He studies the causes, consequences and evolution of harmful social norms in sub-Saharan Africa, the link between institutions, social capital, and crime in Latin America, and the supply and demand for evidence-based policies.
