The Ph.D. in Economics offers advanced courses given by guest professors who are recognized international experts in current research areas. Previous courses have been offered by professors Enrique Mendoza, Liran Einav, Jeffrey Wooldridge and Dean Corbae, among others.
Ph.D. Reading Groups are doctoral courses run by Department professors in which students are expected to read, present and discuss the most relevant current work in a certain area of ​​research. These are the Reading Groups organized this year by the Department:

Applied Economics: Jan Stuhler & Warn Lekfuangfu

The Ph.D. in Economics Program is a member of the interuniversity network ENTER (European Network for Training in Economic Research), a joint venture of eight of the best Economics departments in Europe , all of them with outstanding International Ph.D. Programs: Universitat Autonoma Barcelona, Free University of Brussels, University of Mannheim, University of Stockholm, Tilburg University, Toulouse School of Economics, University College London and Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. The network organizes exchanges of doctoral students between the different centers and holds an annual conference.

The objective of this network is to promote relationships between students and Ph.D. students in the area of ​​Economics within Europe and also introduce students to the dynamic of networking in international environments.
